Whether you're new to agroforestry or looking to build on previous training, this session provides an overview of core agroforestry concepts, practices, and opportunities for conservation district engagement. The session builds on themes introduced during NACD's 2026 Annual Meeting while remaining accessible to participants who did not attend the earlier training.
Participants will explore the five primary agroforestry practices, discuss common resource concerns and landowner goals that agroforestry can help address, and learn how conservation districts can support education, planning, partnerships, and implementation efforts. The session will also introduce key considerations that influence practice selection and project development, helping prepare participants for the afternoon training.
Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how agroforestry can support conservation goals and where districts can play a role in advancing agroforestry opportunities within their communities.
